Reading is My Sanity

Reading. It’s my sanity. It allows me to submerge myself into another world…a place where I don’t have to think about anything other than the story at hand. I have read book after book since I was a young kid and truly wouldn’t have it any other way. I love novels more than anything. Every once in a while I read a non-fiction book, but they definitely take longer to read than a novel. I just love being able to follow a story from beginning to end.

I know a book is good when all I want to do is read all.day.long. I’ve done so on many occasions. Some days, I read before work in the morning…I love having 45 minutes of peace and quiet to just enjoy. Up until a few months ago, I read on my lunch breaks too, but lately I just haven’t had the time. I’m trying to get back to doing so though because it helps balance my day…and my thoughts.

S and I go to the library once a week to return books and pick-up new ones. Love it! Books can be so expensive, so I’m glad we started going to the library over 2 years ago. In that time, I’ve read over 125 books. I know this number because I keep a book log. I know, I know…such a bookworm!

I enjoy numerous authors, but Nicholas Sparks is definitely one of my favorites, and I’ve read all but 1 of his books. Right now, I’m reading his novel The Longest Ride. I don’t read the back covers of books (that’s weird, I know!), so I’m not entirely sure wherethe story is heading. Right now there are two separate stories going on, so I can’t wait to see how they come together. Certainly keeps me coming back for more! I’ll be sure to write another post once I’m done with the book. With any luck, I’ll be able to finish this weekend.

I’m always on the lookout for good books, so if you have some favorites, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment letting me know. Seriously, if reading for a living was an option…I’d totally do it! :o)
